HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Today is Thanksgiving Eve…The Wednesday before our family celebrations complete with turkey and all of the fixings. I’m fairly certain that the majority of us will be eating the same basic meal at some time tomorrow. Enjoy my friends, Enjoy! My apartment has been packed full since Saturday, with just about every piece of baby paraphernalia known to mankind! Well, maybe not EVERY piece, but certainly, Gabriel Alexander has all of the comforts of home as he enjoys his first road trip. We’ve had a busy few days and this morning, and by the time you read this, we will probably be in Louisville, preparing for another few busy days! Gabriel will meet his CeCe’s family…Great Grandma Betty Boop, Great Grandpa Pappaw, as well as his great uncles and aunt and cousins. I can’t wait to introduce him to the family he has become a part of. On Saturday, he’ll meet his Pappy’s side of the family. He won’t remember these sp...

Ten Year Challenge For those of you with Facebook, you know a lot of people have been posting pictures from ten years ago and a current picture, showing change! Well, due to my move, my old pictures are packed away so I haven’t posted any pictures showing how I've changed from ten years ago. Trust me, I haven't changed much...a few more wrinkles maybe, but same basic hair style (needs more frequent color touch-ups), same curvy figure, but overall, the same! So for my ten year challenge, I am going to do a lifestyle look back. This may be uncomfortable for some of you to read, but I can assure you, I am fine. Here goes… In 2009, ten years ago, at this time, I was 51 years old…gosh! Seems like forever ago! I was working two jobs getting Katie through college and I knew that would end soon. Katie was halfway through her senior year of college! That seems hard to believe! She was well on...

LISTS LISTS LISTS! I was sitting at my desk at work earlier this week and just put my head in my hands and wanted to cry! My desk was covered with lists! And a lot of other "stuff!" We moved offices this year and space is at a premium. My lists are critical to my job but I have so many darn lists! Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good list! But right now, I feel like my lists are out of control…I need a list for my lists! There's the Gala lists, there's the holiday lists (food to prep and the gifts to buy), there's the "to do" list for home, the list for the Montgomery Woman's Club, my calendar list and of course, the "done" list. Then there's the grocery list, the Target list, the Steinmart list, oh....maybe I don't need the Steinmart list! I think you get the point. This is something I’m trying to be better about…trying to keep certain lists in certain notebooks…For example, The Gala lists, need ...

Two Sides to EVERY Story! Today, as I was driving home from Louisville, I had many things on my mind for today’s post. But as I sat down to write, I chose a something totally different. On Friday, work wasn’t great! There were situations every where I looked and it was one of those days when I was not worn out physically but rather mentally. It was a tough day, but I wasn’t alone. My co-workers were feeling it too. During the day, I reminded myself that there are two sides to every story so I took a deep breath and gratefully left a little early, when my boss said…let’s go home! I had to make a stop at Kroger to get things I needed so I could prepare some food items to take to Louisville for a family visit. My trips to Louisville have been more meaningful recently after my parents had a fall (about 3-4 weeks ago). Mom is always in pain due to a multitude of issues, but this fall did not help. This week, sh...

World Kindness Day! Who knew? Thank goodness for Facebook and for our Health & Wellness Counselor at Mt. Notre Dame! I had heard this yesterday and vowed to wear a cardigan to school today in honor/memory of Mr. Rogers, at her suggestion. I’m not good at selfies so you will have to take my word for it!! Well, it seems the Pittsburgh area is all about cardigans today… Fun fact, Katie, Anthony and Gabriel really do live in Mr. Rogers neighborhood…Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh! Anyway, in Pittsburgh, they are inviting people to stop by the various media stations, with their cardigans on, and get a picture of themselves with the Mr. Rogers who may be a cardboard cutout, a statue, or a face on a mural. In Pittsburgh, Mr. Rogers is all over the place. If I knew of someplace in Cincinnati where this is happening, I’d make the effort to go and get my picture taken. Full confession, I really never had Kati...

Enter the No Judgement Zone if you dare!! So Wednesday, I decided to chuck my “day after election” comments because I knew there would be controversy, and this is just not the place for it. Thanks for the nice comments from all of you!! However, today, I may just find real controversy and I’m thinking, this could be big!! So, if you decide to jump in…be prepared for comments from all directions!! CHRISTMAS …ahhhhhh! I love it! I love the fun of decorating, I love the fun of Christmas music, I love the fun of shopping and I try to enjoy as many activities and events as I can! I love being with family and friends! To be honest, last year wasn't great, but this year, I am anxious to get things up and going for the holidays! From the time I was little, I have fond memories of Christmas…getting to open one gift on Christmas Eve, usually pajamas from Mom & Dad, a McDonalds dinner, and waking up so early, wait...

ELECTION DEFLECTION! So, I had written a perfect "day after" election day post for today's blog. However, after reading and re-reading, and wanting to make sure there was no major controversy on this blog of mine, I have opted not to post it. As a result, you aren't getting anything special today. I don't have the time to write something new. I did have counseling this morning and one thing I know, I have way more good in my life to have anger with the political views of others. Respecting you and your opinions is important to me and today, I choose kindness and peace! Have a great day!

CeCe Update! I fully intended to post this prior to getting on the road heading home from Pittsburgh, but didn't have time...so I apologize for the late post today! I took a long weekend to be in Pittsburgh with my little family. I needed a Gabriel fix. To say that my heart is full would be an understatement. That little guy has given me so much joy. It had been four weeks since I had hugged on that little bundle of joy! FOUR WEEKS!! He is now 8 weeks old…officially 2 months old on November 6. Where does the time go? When I first arrived on Halloween, I was so excited to see him…wanting him to look at me and smile. He did not let me down! Dressed in his Halloween finest, I took him out of Katie’s arms. After a few snuggles and some CeCe chat, Katie & Anthony left for their date night…tickets to the theater! I was in charge…babysitting for a few hours. ...
