LISTS LISTS LISTS!

I was sitting at my desk at work earlier this week and just put my head in my hands and wanted to cry!  My desk was covered with lists!  And a lot of other "stuff!"  We moved offices this year and space is at a premium.  My lists are critical to my job but I have so many darn lists!  

Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good list!  But right now, I feel like my lists are out of control…I need a list for my lists!  There's the Gala lists, there's the holiday lists (food to prep and the gifts to buy), there's the "to do" list for home, the list for the Montgomery Woman's Club, my calendar list and of course, the "done" list. Then there's the grocery list, the Target list, the Steinmart list, oh....maybe I don't need the Steinmart list!  I think you get the point.

This is something I’m trying to be better about…trying to keep certain lists in certain notebooks…For example, The Gala lists, need to be in the Gala notebook…not 3 different notebooks!   I find myself thinking of Gala things and pulling out the back of a Kroger receipt to remind myself.   Then, when I need to put it into the notebook, I can’t find it, or I tossed the receipt without looking to see if there was anything important on the back side.  UGH!!

Sometimes, I make notes at a Gala meeting, but I use my household steno pad.   Then, when I’m at work, I don’t have that steno pad with me, and BAM…the notes are on hold until later.   Later comes and goes and often, those notes get lost. 

With my de-cluttering, my re-organizing of my notes needs to happen!   Enter my NEW notebooks!  While I was sorting through some of my boxes, I found several new notebooks.  I am certain that I purchased them because they were cheap during school supply season.  I guess I’ve been saving them for something special.  This is the time to make good use of them. I'm currently working on putting certain topics into piles and then I'll identify the right notebook for the right topic. I've realized that I can multi-task while binging on Netflix.  Hmmmmm....

I have observed Katie while I have been around her and she uses a journal type of thing to keep lists of things to do!  I’m fairly certain these are a variety of things that need to be done.   Having one place to go seems so logical.

I know that after the holidays, all hell is going to break loose with my crazy Gala schedule.  So these lists have go to be in order. That is my mission!   Getting it together!

While some people will find down time during the holidays, I'm not anticipating that so I need to make time to sort through my notes and make sure they are in the correct notebooks.

My friends who use their phones as their notebooks, you are amazing!   I can't imagine trying to keep everything in my phone then Lord help me if I lose track of my phone.  

This girl needs her lists, I know that.  Old fashioned and maybe a little crazy, but somehow, things do get done.  Now, to just get those lists organized...Stay tuned!
