Do I Sound Like a Broken Record? *Before I start today’s blog, I want to send out all of the good vibes and prayers to those affected by Hurricane Ian. I know we have friends and family there who have gotten away to be safe. I know many of you have friends and family who have done the same. I also know that some of your friends and family may still be in harm’s way. Please know that they are in our prayers. Now for the business of today’s blog post. Yesterday, on my way to work, I was listening to MSNBC and there was a story about that has been on my mind ever since. It was about Random Acts of Kindness. I know I have said it over and over, both in this blog and on Facebook, that we need more kindness in the world, in our everyday living. This story was amazing and I felt validated. However, it is even more important than ever that we each do our part in the area of kindness. We live in so much negativity and the rare time we see something happy, it’s often overs...

Let the Games Begin! With the beginning of October looming, and the first day of fall upon us, I can’t even believe I’m admitting this, but I wrapped a few Christmas presents this morning! Yes, I have started and this year, I’m determined to keep better track of what I have and what appears of the wish lists of those I love! When I start early, I usually spend more. So I’m trying to be more fiscally responsible. (a girl can dream, right?) It all started with the knowledge that I have a fairly busy October and I know that time gets away from me. I had some time to “browse” on the computer one night and started looking and “poof” I ordered something. Then, I heard from one of my family members of something he/she would like and “poof” another gift was purchased. Today, as I was tidying up my room, some packages fell out of the closet. That’s when I realized I need to wrap and hide these gifts. My closet is overflowing with these early purchases. As luck would hav...

Rules to Live By As I mentioned a week or two ago, I was hoping to update my blog. Well, I took a look at it and updated the picture (martinis until I can get a good photo to use!). I read through my intro and actually left my original one on there with the updated note. At least until I think of something more creative to post. While doing this, I noted that the tag line is starting over after 60 . Last week on one of the Facebook pages I follow, I found this amazing post. I asked if I could “share” it and she was more than happy to do so. Please accept this as my post for the week! See you next Wednesday! xoxoxoxxo From the borrowed post… I asked a friend who has crossed 70 & is heading towards 80 what sort of changes she is feeling in herself? She sent me the following: 1. After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children and my friends, I have now started loving myself. 2. I have realized that I am not “...

Good Bye Summer… I honestly cannot believe that summer is officially over. September just snuck up on me for some reason. With cancelled weekends because of Covid, I just wanted summer to go on until we could make up the fun things. Days at the pool were numbered on one hand. I did squeeze in some quick visits with friends on patios and a fruity drink or two. Overall the summer just flew by but I don’t feel like I have much to show for it. At my previous job, I had June & July off and I managed to do a million things during those two months. Now, my job is year-round (poor me!) so there is no real distinction between the seasons. August marked my second full year at the job and I still really like it…the hours, the flexibility and the people make for the perfect setup for me. I’m grateful for the job and hope that this will be my final work place! Don’t panic co-workers…I’m not retiring anytime soon!! LOL!!! I have been working on my “school work” (the projec...
