Let the Games Begin!

With the beginning of October looming, and the first day of fall upon us, I can’t even believe I’m admitting this, but I wrapped a few Christmas presents this morning! Yes, I have started and this year, I’m determined to keep better track of what I have and what appears of the wish lists of those I love!

When I start early, I usually spend more. So I’m trying to be more fiscally responsible. (a girl can dream, right?)

It all started with the knowledge that I have a fairly busy October and I know that time gets away from me. I had some time to “browse” on the computer one night and started looking and “poof” I ordered something. Then, I heard from one of my family members of something he/she would like and “poof” another gift was purchased.

Today, as I was tidying up my room, some packages fell out of the closet. That’s when I realized I need to wrap and hide these gifts. My closet is overflowing with these early purchases.

As luck would have it, I had purchased some beautiful, two sided wrapping paper at Costco this week, so I got to work wrapping a few things. Feeling accomplished today!!!

With Katie in Pittsburgh, our traditions change a little each year. I’ll head up there sometime prior to Christmas so some of my shopping days are lost. We will see them at Thanksgiving this year, with some family doing a little early Christmas giving. I feel the need to be prepared early.

It won’t be long and I’ll be decking out my bar tree so why not get a head start on these gifts???

Throughout any difficult times in my life, it was the holidays that I always looked forward to. Today is no different. I love the holidays and will enjoy the hectic pace, the happy gatherings and the gifts, purchased in advance (and probably a little last minute too!!).

For those of you who feel the same…High Five! For those of you who just can’t do it, I love you and know you would never judge me!

In the meantime, stay on Santa’s good side!! xoxoxox
