I’m outta here…

 

Some of you know that I had a trip to Pittsburgh planned for this weekend. I had friends headed that way who were going to let me ride along.

Well, I’m headed there as soon as I post this note! I’m leaving a day early, on my own, as the weather has a nasty plan for the next couple of days and it seems that today is the best day to get out of town. I'm sorry to leave my friends behind because they had been so kind as to include me.

I need a fix…CeCe is missing her boys and Momma is missing her daughter! Of course, I’m missing Anthony too. He has plenty of lemons for my lemondrops so I need to get up there! So, in order to beat the storm from Hell, I’m getting on the road early today.

It will be rainy but above freezing so I will take it easy. My family is not thrilled with my departure, but they respect that I am 64 years old and smart enough to know when I need to stop. 

I am prepared with a blanket, hat and gloves. I'll keep my phone charged up and I have a backup charger as well. I have plenty of water, but Lord knows I don't want to drink too much if I get stuck.

So, no official blogpost today! I will be back next week with something fun, no doubt!! LOL!!

And by the way...THE BENGALS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!! WHO DEY!!!!!!

  I’M BACK…AGAIN! I had this ready to go a couple of weeks ago, trying to get back into my normal Wednesday blogpost, but for some reason, the evening got away from me and my good intentions to get back to “work” on my blog, just went out the window. Let it be known, I’m back. This post will address the “Where have you been?” “Are you okay?” and “I miss you!” comments I have received from some of my beloved followers.   Go Baby Go!!! Yep…Derby week is in full swing and tomorrow, Louisville will become THE place to be for three days! If any of you are reading this and will be in the area…Welcome and have a great time!! If you want to have a mint julep, feel free to stop by! My week has been so fun and the events did not disappoint. It all started with Opening Night in the Turf Club at Churchill Downs. It was a beautiful evening with a light breeze. Our driver was very kind, but sadly, her car did not have air conditioning, so we were a little warm heading out to the track. Note to self…be sure to ask that question when scheduling!! After arriving near the gate, we enjoyed the easy ride on the escalator and elevator to the Turf Club where we were seated and greeted and ordered our first cocktails…a mint julep for me!!
