WOW! Just WOW! The past week was an interesting one. Our lockdown is starting to be lifted and with that comes some interpretations of what that means. I’ve seen lots of press conferences, medical specialists, government officials and I am still terribly confused. So, how do we start to re-connect? I have no clue. I’ve been very conservative since returning from Pittsburgh and Louisville. Knowing that I’ll be going back to Louisville soon, and knowing that Katie’s family will be coming to help me soon with my move, I have kept myself very protected. There was a quick trip to Kroger to pick up my click-list order and a couple of trips to Mt. Notre Dame to pick up my personal items and finish up some work. These trips were totally legit, with masks, gloves, sanitizer and follow-up before and after my dealings with these locations. Then, there was a long weekend…and a chance to have a “driveway” meetup! It may h...

Rain Rain Go Away! Sitting in my self-quarantined apartment today, after a few days of feeling sorry for myself. So much to do and no real motivation. UGH! Who’s with me? Have you had any of those days? My decision to move announced last week brought on so many wonderful, supportive comments. I know it was a surprise to some, but no one is surprised that I want to be closer to family (although a few were surprised I wasn’t going to Pittsburgh!) and those awesome friends! I know that many of you have moved multiple times so you get this…it’s overwhelming! When we moved from houses previously, there was room to “stage” the boxes that were ready to go. In an apartment, that isn’t the case. I have found corners and some un-used spaces to work with but at the moment, I look so unsettled and I guess that sums it up! I'm just an overwhelmed, unsettled mess. Once I finally gave my notice at work, I had my list and ...

Breaking News… I am going home! After 30+ years in Cincinnati, I’m going back to Louisville! Not just for a visit, but moving back to Louisville!! On May 3, I gave my notice to Mt. Notre Dame, the place that I thought would be the location of my last job, where I would retire. I have had a great run there and have enjoyed the friendships of so many. I know I’m lucky to have had such great work friends. It broke my heart to have to give notice over the phone, but if doing it in person was going to happen…I’d have to drive back to town to give notice, since my job goes from August 1 to May 31! During this quarantine/shutdown/pandemic, I have had lots of time to think. This time has been filled with deep discussions about life and the changes that have been part of my life during these past couple of years. Things that will change, learning that we are not immune to any of the difficulties in life. When I was first d...

Up Schitt’s Creek… I rarely have time to just sit and watch TV, although it is on a lot of the time. For me…it’s noise. I do have my favorite shows, but normally, I have to record them because of my schedule! Well, that was BEFORE Covid-19. While in Pittsburgh, Katie, Anthony and I enjoyed several episodes of the Great British Bake-Off for mindless, fun TV. Then, Katie got me started on FleaBag, a dark comedy with a British actress. She is a hot mess, and trust me, the show has lots of sex. I loved watching the show because I had nothing in common with her, and the show had a everything…sex, love, family dysfunction, obsessions, hunky guys, not so hunky guys, grief, sin, and sex. Although I couldn’t relate to her, I felt happy for her when things would go her way and I would cheer when she pulled off a devilish prank. It’s definitely a chick series, and I have to say I wasn’t sure about it at first, but ...
