It’s beginning to look like…Christmas!

Well, I guess I can be called an “influencer” this week! It seems that my Halloween tree-decorating inspired others to start decorating. To those that hate this, I apologize, but to others who are glad to get started, good for you!! All of you make me proud!

After putting up the tree, it seems that others have decided that getting an early start isn’t so bad. If it makes you happy, brings you joy, why not?

It’s a lot of work to decorate the whole house for the holidays. Why not take your time, especially if you are retired, and get it done. Don’t you think sitting by the fire over Thanksgiving weekend, looking at your tree, will feel good?

As the weeks (a little over 6 weeks until Christmas) start to close in, our calendars fill up with a variety of things to do. Some things are fun traditions, some things are work requirements, some things are friend gift giving and of course for many, there is traveling. So, why not mark the holiday decorating off your list?

Every day around this house, little decorations are starting to appear. We need to be completely done by Thanksgiving because after that time, the weeks go quickly and we all move a little slower around here.

I’ve gotten messages from friends who send pictures of the progress of their decorating. I’ve heard from friends that say it’s the first time they have been this far along. With Thanksgiving a bit early, having Christmas ready is a little tight. It can be done friends!!

That being said, no pressure to anyone to get decorated early. It’s a personal choice but I am impressed with those of you who have taken up the challenge! Enjoy every minute!

My Christmas shopping has been going on for awhile. I’m happy to say that it is nearly done. Of course, I know that I’ll probably spend more because I keep seeing things that will probably be added to the pile under the tree. Shopping early is great unless it’s not. I’m still working on trying to say, “I’m done!” I am getting better, but it seems for me, shopping too far ahead comes with it’s own issues…I don’t have a good space for hiding things. Last year I wrapped things early and actually put sticky notes on the gifts but when it came time to pull them out, the sticky notes had fallen off. So, some of my wrapping had to be un-done and re-done. That wasn’t fun.

Since moving back to Louisville, my time for getting out to shop is much more limited. During Covid, I became an online shopper and it has continued. So, when I see something on sale or when I see something different, I act on it.

On Tuesday of next week, I’ll be heading out of town for three nights and I’m looking forward to a quick getaway. The day after I get back, I’ll be hosting the Thanks for Giving Brunch/Lunch. This is the time when we provide the server(s) with a large, unexpected tip! It’s an occasion that I am looking forward to. Next week will be a big week for me!

Due to the trip, I’ll be skipping my blog next Wednesday, but you can bet there will be lots to talk about on Thanksgiving Eve!!! (just two weeks from today!)

Have a good couple of weeks! I’ll be back!!! Xoxoxoxoxo
