So Much to Say!!!
Every now and then, I just have to do an update post. Today
is one of those days! Looking back over my most recent posts, seems like I have
a lot to update!
PLAYLIST! My playlist isn’t
finished but it is coming along and WOW! You kids gave me some awesome selections!
Next time you get in the car with me…be prepared to jam!
GRANDKIDS! Those boys are getting
big! They are in the midst of sleep training, potty training, tossing the
pacifier, Adrian moving into the crib and Gabriel sleeping in a big boy bed! Adrian
also started day care in February and was sick shortly after starting! Poor
baby but always with a smile! Adrian is just under six-months old and Gabriel
is two-and-a half! So hard to believe! I’ll be heading up that way soon and can’t
wait to get my hands on them! Thank goodness for FaceTime!
COVID! For
once, I’m feeling positive about our isolation and masking! The positivity
rates are dropping and so are the restrictions. Still feeling cautiously
optimistic, but so much better. Today, Mom’s doctor said, “Us old folks need to
hang in there a little longer, but we’re almost home free!”
GOING OUT! I have happily had a
few outings with friends and it feels so good. I’ve learned to embrace those
outings with one or two, just as much those with smaller groups of friends. I’m
only with vaccinated people and usually I have a mask, but it’s still awesome!
Hope you all have had the opportunity to do the same! This summer can be
amazing!!!
GRIEF! After a couple of weeks of
sadness, life is looking up. I know my friends are sad, but they are doing
okay. Another couple of deaths have occurred and yet I’m finding some peace
when I know the loved ones left behind are okay. Thanks to those who of you who
said kind things and sent notes. I had a tough week a couple of weeks ago and
you were all there for me.
UKRAINE! I can only say that I
am sick over the situation in Ukraine and the refugee crisis in Poland. I can
say that I will not complain about the price of gas regardless of how much I
pay. I have a car, a warm/safe home, and I am not separated from the people I
love with thoughts that I may never see them again. Like many others, I can
pray for peace and for our leaders to make the right decisions for all of us.
LOOKING AHEAD! I’m
happy to say that there are a couple of trips in my future…nothing big and
fancy but fun and with friends. One of the trips will be a day trip hosting a group
for The Bourbon Trail and won’t happen until the fall, but YAY for planning and
having things to look forward to!
I’m
also looking forward to a babysitting adventure later in June as Katie &
Anthony will leave their precious children with me for a week! I’ll be with
them, in their house, so it will be familiar territory for them, but oh Lordy…this
will be an adventure plus! I’m already planning my activities for the day!
Hoping for warm weather and a lot of splashing outside in the kiddie pool!!! I have a feeling there will be more than one blogpost about my "adventure!" Can't wait!
Shortly
after that, a mini reunion with our first neighbors from Cincinnati. Our kids
grew up together and we have been through so much with them so we will gather
and re-acquaint ourselves and meet new babies! I gotta say that I am soooooo
looking forward to this trip! I can hardly contain myself! They have a great
pool too!!!
There is
Derby coming up! I have a couple of weddings coming up! I’m sure there are more
happy hours down the road. Looking ahead is fun again!
Stay
safe and healthy and I’ll see you next week!! Time to change into my pajamas!!! That’s all folks!!!
I'm looking forward to our reunion!
