I’m in Pittsburgh and I’m on Baby Time!

By now, I’m sure most of you know my only daughter, Katie and her husband Anthony, added a new baby boy to their family this week. We all welcomed Adrian James Trupiano to this crazy family of ours.

Adrian decided he was ready to get out and although his arrival date was originally October 18, he arrived a little early, with no issues! We are thrilled and the timing was perfect for me.

September 26 at 9:01pm was his entry to this world. With all that has been crazy and uncertain, one thing is for sure, the miracle of birth is something no one can dispute.

I am now the CeCe to two precious boys. I am in love with both of them and as a result, my heart is bursting.

This time was different…Katie got pregnant during the pandemic, which meant the rules were different for delivery time. Masks were worn by everyone except the expectant moms, no waiting in the waiting in the waiting room like last time and definitely no one in the room while momma is in labor. In some ways, I think it is better for the parents, but for me…I was anxiously awaiting the phone call!

Backing up a little, Katie had made a phone call to me at 4:30am on Sunday morning and I was packed and ready to go by 6am. I said goodbye to my sleepy parents and my brother and I pulled out of the driveway, in hopes I’d arrive before the birth.

Smooth sailing all the way up and by 1:30pm, I was able to relieve the friends who were staying with Gabriel who had no idea how his world was about to change. He saw me after his nap. We played games and we tried to have conversation about our new baby but he wasn’t too interested.

I asked Anthony to see me a message, like “pushing has begun” At 8:57pm. I got a note that she was 8 cms. And at 9:06 I received the message that the baby was born at 9:01pm. Now that is pretty darn fast…3-4 pushes and that little peanut was out, the text from Anthony was a relief and yet, I wanted to see or hear Katie. Fortunately, she was able to call me. It was a great call from the mother of my newest grandson.

Gabriel and I spent time together for two and a half days. I tried to call him a big brother every chance I got. We read books about the new baby. Then, I showed him pictures of Katie, Anthony and Adrian and he got very excited, afterall he was missing his mommy and daddy. He wasn’t sure about the baby, and I just tossed it off.

Then, yesterday, they came home and Gabriel was tickled as could be to see his mommy and daddy and his baby. Our hearts melted. He tried to say Adrian, but it proved to be a little tougher. However, he took the baby’s hand in his own way, welcomed this new little bundle into his house.

Katie gently unloaded Adrian out of the car seat and handed him to me. I was overjoyed with this tiny baby who would soon call me CeCe. He’s perfect in every way and how someone so tiny can bring so much joy to al of us is a mystery to me, but he has and I can’t wait to see how Adrian and Gabriel will change the world!

I’m grateful to all for the prayers and kindness shown to all of us Thanks you! Adrian makes great grandchild number 10 for Pappaw & Betty Boop! I’ll be here a few more days I’ll step away so other family can visit and get a fix! But I’ll count the days until I can be back! In the meantime, I’ll have to FaceTime and start rounding up my baby toys!!

I’m helping with the sleep schedule and covering Gabriel and that’s why my post is a little late. Hopefully, this schedule will catch up with me soon!! Xoxoxoxo
