A New Day…

 

Today is the Inauguration of our 46th President, Joe Biden. It is also the historical swearing in of the first female Vice-President, Kamala Harris! I can't help to be emotional thinking of the Girl Power in our government today! 

As you probably can assume/guess, I am glued to the activities on TV most of the day. I will take this time to reflect, refresh and renew my love for our country.

I’ll pray for a peaceful day…one without anger and protests. I’ll pray for the safekeeping of all of my fellow citizens. I’ll pray that the Biden/Harris team transition will be successful.

With that being said, and without being any more political, I will not be posting a blog today.

Treasure the fact that we have the freedom to elect our leaders. Despite the condition of things today, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Would you?

Happy Inauguration Day President Biden & Vice-President Harris! Let’s stand together and get our country healthy and back on track!

  I’M BACK…AGAIN! I had this ready to go a couple of weeks ago, trying to get back into my normal Wednesday blogpost, but for some reason, the evening got away from me and my good intentions to get back to “work” on my blog, just went out the window. Let it be known, I’m back. This post will address the “Where have you been?” “Are you okay?” and “I miss you!” comments I have received from some of my beloved followers.   Go Baby Go!!! Yep…Derby week is in full swing and tomorrow, Louisville will become THE place to be for three days! If any of you are reading this and will be in the area…Welcome and have a great time!! If you want to have a mint julep, feel free to stop by! My week has been so fun and the events did not disappoint. It all started with Opening Night in the Turf Club at Churchill Downs. It was a beautiful evening with a light breeze. Our driver was very kind, but sadly, her car did not have air conditioning, so we were a little warm heading out to the track. Note to self…be sure to ask that question when scheduling!! After arriving near the gate, we enjoyed the easy ride on the escalator and elevator to the Turf Club where we were seated and greeted and ordered our first cocktails…a mint julep for me!!
