Thankful!
Tomorrow is
Thanksgiving…a holiday I have always treasured. I love everything about it from
the food to the fun to family, and everything in between, including games,
movies, loungewear, and traditions. And the black Friday shopping...oh my!
Tomorrow is
Thanksgiving…and this year, it will be like no other Thanksgiving for our
family and for most of the friends and family that I know. It will look different
for each of us, but it will also look similar. There will be fewer place
settings around tables. The rowdy crowds cheering on football teams will be
smaller. There may not be enough people to play some of the board games or card
games. Those traditional activities, like drawing names for Christmas, will
surely look different. It won’t be the same.
Tomorrow is
Thanksgiving…a day dedicated to the gratitude that we often overlook throughout
the rest of the year. All of us will find plenty to be grateful for, no doubt,
but it will look different for sure. I am grateful that my “bubble” or “pod”
includes four other people so I won’t be alone…which could very well have been
the case.
Two years ago,
on November 28, 2018, I was newly divorced and spent the Thanksgiving weekend
with Katie & Anthony. That was the weekend that Katie helped me get my blog
ready to go. November 28, 2018 was my first post.
In looking
back, I see that so much has changed for me. I’m no longer “recently divorced.”
I no longer work fulltime at Mt. Notre Dame. I no longer live on my own
(YIKES!)!!!
There are also
highlights…I moved back to Louisville to be closer to family! I found a part-time
job during a pandemic (one that I love and am grateful for!). I am a CeCe (my
Grandma name)!
The pandemic
has caused more disruption for us than we ever could have imagined. I don’t
pretend to think that my disruptions are any more difficult than yours. We are
all in this craziness together. I know there will be an end to this madness, but
it’s become harder to see the end as the season is bringing so many more sick
people. My friends, it’s getting much closer to home, so please stay healthy
and safe.
My blog has
provided me as a place to share, to vent, and just to shout out every Wednesday!
Thank you for supporting me through it all. Happy “Bloggerversary” to me!
Tomorrow is
Thanksgiving…I will be cooking like we’re having a crowd. Good thing we love
our leftovers! I will be making phone calls and sending texts to many that I won’t
be seeing. There may be a Zoom or FaceTime call as well. Hopefully, there will
be movies and games and I know there will be loungewear!
Tomorrow is
Thanksgiving and although it will look different and, in some ways, sad, I will
be grateful for all of my blessings and I hope you know how grateful I am to
have you!
Happy Thanksgiving cousin!
