Feelin’ the Love!!
Today, just a short note to follow up on the kindness post
from the other day! Baby Gabriel is
just a little over two weeks old and I have been blessed with sweet cards and
notes from so many people! Kindness at
its best!! Katie & Anthony have
received love and thoughtful gifts from friends and family. It’s amazing what a baby can do!
LOL!! I keep thinking
about that Christmas song…”A Baby Changes Everything” which has always made
Katie and me laugh. It is about the birth of Jesus, and how His birth
changed the world. We used to laugh
because oh yeah, a baby does change everything!
Today, knowing that our worlds were changed forever when that sweet boy entered the world, I don’t know that I’ll ever think about those words the same way again! This baby Gabriel has changed everything!

I have a quick FaceTime chat with him every day…even if he
is asleep, I make sure he hears my voice.
Now that he is over two weeks old, he surely recognizes me!! LOL!! In fact, I'm guessing he gets fussy as his way of letting his momma know that he wants to hear CeCe! I find myself trying to figure out when I can connect with Katie and Gabriel for our daily chat.
On Saturday, I’ll head to Pittsburgh for a few days…Anthony
returns to work on Monday so I’ll be there to help Katie ease into being at
home with the baby and the dog…alone! I
am beyond excited to get my hands on him and to marvel at how he has grown and
how advanced he surely is at this point!!
I have no doubt that Katie will do great on her own! She and Anthony have already proven to be
great parents and although it is a huge adjustment, baby Gabriel is fitting
into their lives so well!!
With so many people showering them (and me) with phone
calls, meals, cards, and gifts, they know that they are loved and there is no
doubt this baby already has quite a tribe!
I shared all of this with Beth (my counselor) today and she
reminded me of the times I have mentioned the great tribe of people I have,
loving and supporting me. She said it’s
heartwarming to feel the love as our family grows.
I’m watching my legacy continue, through Katie, as she has become a Mom. It’s such a gift! For me, watching her become a Mom has continued to overwhelm me...even in counseling, we talked about all the "feels" that have come along with this realization.

Sending love and thanks to all of you who have done so much
for our family during Gabriel’s birth and even before he was born. We truly “feel the love” and send it right
back to you!!
