Party for CeCe!!

Yesterday, I was treated to a “Grandma Shower!”   It was a party to celebrate me, the grandma to be!   I can’t tell you how much fun it was and how I’m convinced this needs to happen for every one of my friends when they become grandmas.

It started with a good friend telling me she would be happy to host a Cincinnati baby shower for Katie but she also said, “We can do a baby shower or we could have a grandma shower for you!”    Knowing how shy I am, and how I just hate to be the center of attention, it took me about three seconds to say, “YES! I’d love a Grandma Shower!!”  

My sweet friend asked for my guest list and she did the rest!   She out-did herself…from the blue and pink cocktails, to the assortment of tasty foods, to the fun involved with the activities (not games!) to the adorable “onesies” that guests made for Baby T…it was a great party!  

And the gifts for CeCe!  I received items from the guests that were things I could use at my house when Baby T comes to visit…bath time items, diapers & wipes, books, VODKA, blankets, a portable clip on chair for the dinner table, a baby monitor, picture frames, assorted toys, and a rose gold necklace with a sweet pendant that says “CeCe” on it!  

There was also a handmade quilt, with “CeCe” embroidered on the bottom…this stays at my house!   In fact, ALL of these things were selected for me to keep at my house!   There were also outlet covers, earplugs (for when the baby is crying!), a nose plug (for stinky diaper changes!), and lots of fun stuff!  

We were dressed for the day…a black & white jumpsuit for me, and a hot pink swing dress for Katie.  Little did we know that the hostess would use black & white and hot pink for the primary décor for the day!  

One of the highlights were the amazing cookies!   These cookies were the kind that were too pretty to eat…but we managed and their taste did not disappoint!   Plus…each guest left with a parting gift...a small bottle of wine with a custom CeCe label and a gift box with treats!

My friends really came through with so many “grandma” supplies!   I am ready!!   These friends have also been a part of my life through the good times and bad…each of them from the various areas of my life…family, high school, work, neighbors, club friends, and church friends.   They know me, they “get” me and they love me!   It’s such a treat to have them share this very special “good” time with me.  I’ve said it many times, but I am blessed! 

We have seen so much generosity for Katie & Anthony and Baby T, but to have that generosity shared with me as CeCe, well, it is overwhelming!

Thank you to the hostess, Sandy, for her attention to all of the details.   I repeat…EVERYONE who is becoming a grandma should be treated to a Grandma Shower!!
