It’s Getting
Real Now!!!
Today was a great day!
We celebrated Katie’s first baby shower with an amazing group of women
(and a couple of very special men!)!
Her first baby shower!!!
OMG!!! She is five months pregnant…I’m
going to be a grandma in just a few short months!! Of course, we all know it’s been real for
awhile now, but today, seeing her opening baby things…the things that she wants
and needs for making life with a baby just a little easier!
I have heard it so many times, but I truly felt it today…there
is nothing more special than seeing your child become a parent. For me, she is still “becoming” a parent but
it is so true. I watched her “light up”
when she opened the hooded bathrobe! She got
tickled when she opened the silver puffy coat and the black & white fleece jacket! Her
heart beat a little faster when she saw the onesies and leggings! And the books. Baby T’s library will be the envy of the neighborhood! Every item was a welcome addition for sweet baby T!!!
This soon-to-be grandma could not stop smiling. The kindness and generosity shown by all of
those in attendance filled my heart with so much joy. Baby T is loved so much already! I think about the first moments when I held
Katie in my arms. The miracle of a baby
is truly overwhelming. Knowing that my
only child will be experiencing those same feelings…the feelings that I can
never truly explain to her, well, I think I could burst into tears right now.
I want to publicly thank my sister, Lori and my niece, Abby,
for putting together the most adorable “UP” themed shower. From the table decorations, to the custom
canvas for the baby’s room, no details were left out.
We walked through Paradise Falls and found the mimosa bar, donned our feather headbands, and predicted “boy” or “girl.” (That detail will remain a mystery until the delivery!). There was an assortment of salads, finger sandwiches, and for dessert...cake pops and Derby pie!
After gifts, we were invited to personalize the canvas for Baby T. This canvas was created by Abby and our thumbprints became balloons! Like I said, the details were amazing!
Tonight...I will fall asleep with a smile on my face...sweet dreams will fill my night!
Thanks to all for spoiling my “baby!”
There was even a little gift for the Grandma to be!
