So Much to Do…

           So Little Time

October is half over and my lists are growing! I have a lot of “goals” and right now, I’m not sure I will get through them.

First off, some of you know that I basically cancelled October. By that I mean I have been homebound since returning from the wedding 11 days ago. This has been by choice while I am doing a chemo-cream treatment on my face, at home.

Now, for some of you, this may be no big deal. However, it is supposed to really treat the “hot spots” or pre-cancerous spots on your face. In the process, you apply the cream like sunscreen on your face, but you need to avoid the sun and any heat. The process involves an ugly follow-up with blisters/peeling/burning/and more!! Sorry that there was no warning. I’m going to spare you with anymore of the details but suffice to say, I was not sure what to expect. Fortunately, for me, it has not been as bad as I anticipated…I learned from my counselor that the reality is usually so much better than the anticipation. I’m on Day 11, which is my first day without the cream. So, we will see what the next few days bring, but based on how I’m looking…I will count my blessings!!!

I had planned to tell friends that I was getting a facelift, but this “cream” is not that good!!! LOL!! Hopefully, I’ve zapped those pre-cancerous spots and I’m good to go!

I’ve become so much better about sunscreen and hats and I encourage you all to do the same. It’s easy to do and will hopefully keep my face intact.

As you know, I put my bar-themed Christmas tree up on Halloween night. This is something I look forward to and everyone rolls their eyes and that makes me giggle!! It’s a simple thing that gives me pleasure!

Before the tree goes up on Halloween, I have babysitting trip to Pittsburgh, some organizing in my room and shifting of things to make room for the tree!! Time is flying once again!!!

I’ll get those things done, I always do, it’s just taking longer than I thought!! I’ve also got two really fun trips coming up…one in November and one in December. These trips are just 2-3 night trips, but with awesome friends and I always love those quick getaways!!

I’ve gotten a good start on Christmas shopping while I’ve been home which is a great thing! My intention is to get that list completed by Thanksgiving weekend! I love wrapping the gifts and getting them under the tree to help with clearing up the clutter in my room! I don’t have as many hiding places as I used to so getting them wrapped is the best hiding spot!

I have so many lists…but I do love my lists and I’ve been really good about using my notebook pages, one for each day. There is something to be said about scratching those things off that page!

Anyway, I know I’ve come a long way because I know how to give myself grace. Like my daily effort to read for 30 minutes…I don’t always get that marked off the page! Or my Fitbit goal isn’t always met! Most days, somethings are moved to the next day. Sometimes, everything is checked off. Either way, I can go to bed without guilt because I give myself grace. It’s not always easy but I know that the things will get done. The timing belongs to me.

If you are struggling to get things done on time…give yourself some grace! Somehow, it always gets done!!! xoxoxoxoxo
