Up Up & Away!!!
For the first time in a long time, I’m leaving on a jet plane, headed to Pittsburgh!
I have the task of babysitting for two extra special fellas for a couple of
nights while their parents get a couple of nights away!
Now, what’s to worry about?
I’m not really worried, just a little anxious about a few
things. The flying part is not scary, but the delays and technical issues with
Southwest is a little unnerving. I always loved Southwest because of their humor
and fun on flights. I’m guessing they may not be doing a lot of that these days…or
maybe, they are making fun of themselves! We shall see!
I also have not flown since the various Covid restrictions
and end of restrictions have occurred. I plan to wear a mask. It just seems
logical in the big crowds. I won’t like it, but I also know that it’s important
for me to stay healthy for my grandsons and my parents. Will I be the only one
wearing a mask? I’m guessing maybe, but hopefully, I’ll see others feeling the
same way.
Next up is the very early hour that I must get up and head
to the airport. I haven’t had to set an alarm in a long time. I have human alarms
so never worry about oversleeping. Tonight, the alarm will be set for 3:30am
(leaving home at 4:30am). Luckily, I do get up a couple times during the night (as
many 64+ year old people do!) so I’m guessing I’ll wake up before my alarm!
I always love an airport bloody Mary, “make it a double for
$1?” But, at that hour in the morning, I will refrain! Can’t promise I’ll do
the same on my way home!!!
My babysitting job will commence around dinner time Thursday
when Katie & Anthony will head out for their trip. The boys will be running
around and will be wondering what CeCe has in her suitcase! There are lots of
things in my suitcase and I know they will be happy!
Gabriel has learned to play Hi Ho Cherry-O so that is packed
in my bag, along with a 10’ long puzzle, some updated photos for their little
family photo books, and of course, the “treat” bag, with fruit snacks,
goldfish, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal bars, among other things! I’m sure there
will be a bath and story time, then all of us will be off to bed!!
My suitcase is ½ treats and fun and the other ½ pajamas! PJ
day will be happening…and Gabriel can’t believe we are going to wear our
pajamas ALL DAY! “That’s so silly CeCe!” It sounds heavenly and I can’t wait to
educate those two boys on PJ DAY!
I’m hoping that Adrian will be illness free since he has had
tubes put in his ears and has felt 100% better since! If you recall, last June
was not pretty. I’m looking for 48 hours of fun/chaos/happy exhaustion!
Once Katie and Anthony return on Saturday, I’ll have some “grown-up”
time and then an early flight on Sunday will get me home by 1pm. I’m glad I won’t
have to drive home! Letting someone else get me home safely after a busy
weekend is perfectly fine with me!
I’m leaving my parents in good hands so I won’t worry about
them. My mission is to keep two very special toddlers safe and happy and I
accept that mission with pleasure! Next week…DERBY WEEK!!! XOXOXOX
