OOPS!


Well, it happened! I started my blog post earlier today, got pulled away and somehow, it disappeared. I know my technical skills are not totally up-to-date, but it was literally gone. As hard as I tried to find the document, it just wasn't to be found.

So, at 9pm, I had to start over. Guess what? I'm re-thinking my post anyway. I wrote about my efforts to unload my storage unit, finding and providing humor in some of the effort. It was full of emotion because each bin provided different memories. Some I was willing to let go of and some I need to hang on to. 

The wedding album was tough. Lots of tears, memories and reminders of those who are no longer with us. I remember my Dad got his braces off just a week before my wedding and on that day, he smiled a full, teeth showing smile! My Mom was a fashionista with a cocktail dress and a pill box hat. I chose royal blue for the bridesmaids and obviously I was a rebel amongst the pastel dresses! 

I set the album aside, thinking Katie might want it. She happily took it when she was here last week, knowing that her parents were indeed happy and some day, her children will know the story!

UGH! I wish I could recall my post a little better, but suffice to say, I am making progress and I'm giving myself a pat on the back because it's not easy! 

My goal is to be out of the cold, concrete block of space by May 1. The "stuff" I want to hold onto will be in this house, not super accessible but ready to be gone through again, when the time comes. My focus is on the $$ I will save and as we all know, cash can be a good motivator.

It was hard to get my thoughts together today as I have been thinking about Nashville and the sadness around another school shooting. I'm not going to get political but I will say that we need to remember that our babies deserve so much better. I don't pretend to have the solution but I'm willing to listen and be a part of how we can make this world a safer place. I hope you are too!

  I’M BACK…AGAIN! I had this ready to go a couple of weeks ago, trying to get back into my normal Wednesday blogpost, but for some reason, the evening got away from me and my good intentions to get back to “work” on my blog, just went out the window.   Go Baby Go!!! Yep…Derby week is in full swing and tomorrow, Louisville will become THE place to be for three days! If any of you are reading this and will be in the area…Welcome and have a great time!! If you want to have a mint julep, feel free to stop by! My week has been so fun and the events did not disappoint. It all started with Opening Night in the Turf Club at Churchill Downs. It was a beautiful evening with a light breeze. Our driver was very kind, but sadly, her car did not have air conditioning, so we were a little warm heading out to the track. Note to self…be sure to ask that question when scheduling!! After arriving near the gate, we enjoyed the easy ride on the escalator and elevator to the Turf Club where we were seated and greeted and ordered our first cocktails…a mint julep for me!!
