Re-Boot! Re-Boot!

Happy Wednesday friends! Thanks for the kindness shown last week when I said “I’ve had a day!”

Yes, it had been a tough day, but I know, we all have them. It seemed like it was just one of those days and my coping mechanisms were not working.

When the going gets tough, the friends come out from all over and for that, thank you! I know that I have a huge tribe of friends, all over Louisville and Cincinnati and beyond. Thanks for showing me your love!

In the process of trying to get my “mo-jo” back last week, I was invited to an overnight with a friend. She was determined to get me out for dinner and a night when I could get some good sleep and RE-BOOT!

That’s exactly what I needed, a re-boot. Coming out of the Covid chaos with all of us being sick and trying to care for Mom and Dad had been more draining than I realized.

When the computer is in a rut or running slow…I re-boot. This time, I was going to have a human re-boot.

Last night, I went straight to my destination from work. I got my things inside and we headed out for a fun dinner. Keeping in mind that I still do not have my taste or smell back, I ordered the same meal as my friend. I’m sure it was tasty but just being there was fun. I even had a beer flight…WTH? I’m not a big beer drinker, but it was a beer place, so I had to indulge. I’m sure I’ll go back when I can taste them!

Anyway, this dear friend and her husband treated me to dinner and then opened their home to me. “Sleep in as long as you want.” After some ice cream for dessert, I slipped into the comfy bed, where the room was dark (no night lights in the hallway) and within minutes, I was asleep!

I slept until 8:30am and I consider that a win…a true re-boot! So allow me to give these friends a shout-out! It was a great night.

I felt refreshed and ready for my Wednesday “duties!” I even got creative with my dinner tonight.

We all need a little re-boot now and then and I hope you all will do the same! We shouldn’t feel bad about a self-care re-boot. When we feel good, everything is a little easier.

I’m not sure when the next re-boot will be needed, but I will know when it’s time and I’m going to take it!

Again, thanks to all of you for your love and kindness and a big hug and lots of kisses to my friends who gave me the re-boot that I needed!

As I navigate through the loss of taste and smell, I’m grateful that all of us have come through Covid, knowing that for Mom, it could have been so much worse! Thankful to science and for her being fully vaccinated and boosted!

Next week, let’s talk about Love & Valentines! XOXOXOXO
