And The Joy Continues…

 

As you know, my bar-themed Christmas tree is up and lit every night when I get home! Although the retro aluminum tree is up, we haven’t turned on the rotating light just yet. This week, my Dad will start to get things out, slowly, but on his schedule.

If anyone wants to know…YES, this early Christmas decorating brings me joy!! Even with the curse of the time change, when many are grumpy, you can’t help but be happy in our house because of the festive little tree in my room.

To keep the joy and happiness going, I have a trip to the Biltmore Candlelight Christmas starting TODAY! Of course, it will start today because a trip to the Christmas Place in Pidgeon Forge is first on the list.

Keep in mind that I really don’t need anything and at this point, I have no where to store anything else, but spending time looking at the Christmas décor will brighten the gloomiest of days in my book! Plus, you just never know when you might find something really fun or different or maybe for a gift that I will just have to have!!

Perhaps the highlight of the trip will be the friends who will be traveling with me. There will be six of us altogether and each of us assigned to the various necessities that accompany a road trip. Guests include a friend from high school, a friend from college and a friend from my early career. Pretty cool!! There will be alcohol for specialty drinks, a mimosa bar, sweet snacks, savory snacks, healthy snacks and more!

Thankfully, there will be two men with us who will be our drivers, help us load and unload and who will let us do our thing, as they happily watch college football at a brewery or our AirBnB. Their only instructions are to be at the dinners and the tour. In fact, that is the way we travel…no pressure to do anything unless you want to and of course, I am certain that they will want to do all of the fun things!!!

We’ll have tasty meals at local restaurants, with snacks, desserts, breakfast and after-dinner cocktails at the house. It will be relaxing and stress free…we all can agree to that for sure!

So today’s blog is short and sweet. As the countdown to Thanksgiving continues, know that I am in full holiday mode and you may get tired of it. If you need joy, get some of those Christmas items out. I’m happy to help you!! LOL!!!

    Oh have a ball! Did a girlfriends’ trip in 2018 to Asheville. Had a blast. Nothing like it.

  I’M BACK…AGAIN! I had this ready to go a couple of weeks ago, trying to get back into my normal Wednesday blogpost, but for some reason, the evening got away from me and my good intentions to get back to “work” on my blog, just went out the window.   Go Baby Go!!! Yep…Derby week is in full swing and tomorrow, Louisville will become THE place to be for three days! If any of you are reading this and will be in the area…Welcome and have a great time!! If you want to have a mint julep, feel free to stop by! My week has been so fun and the events did not disappoint. It all started with Opening Night in the Turf Club at Churchill Downs. It was a beautiful evening with a light breeze. Our driver was very kind, but sadly, her car did not have air conditioning, so we were a little warm heading out to the track. Note to self…be sure to ask that question when scheduling!! After arriving near the gate, we enjoyed the easy ride on the escalator and elevator to the Turf Club where we were seated and greeted and ordered our first cocktails…a mint julep for me!!
