Baby It’s Hot Outside!
Oh my…to say it is hot & steamy out there is an
understatement. Whew! I’m not really complaining, because I am fortunate to
have an air-conditioned home and an air-conditioned car. My livelihood does not
revolve around the outdoors. I can’t stop thinking about those construction
workers, road crews, landscaping/lawn care workers.
It’s so hot…even Churchill Downs closed for today and
tomorrow because of the excessive heat. This is just the second time in history,
I think! That’s big!
The weekend looks to be pleasant and 10-15 degrees cooler,
then those unbelievable hot days will return.
I know many of my Cincinnati friends have been without
power and I’m sorry! Hopefully by the time this gets out, power has been
restored. Thinking of all of you!
A week from today, I’ll be starting a babysitting job with
my two favorite little guys! I’ll be in Pittsburgh for just over a week as
their parents travel for an early 10-year anniversary trip! (10 years married
in November!!)
Now, some may think I’m crazy, and I may be, but I have got
a week of fun planned for the three of us and I can’t wait. I know I’ll be tired;
I know I’ll have aches and pains from the steps and playing on the floor, and I
know I’ll probably have a few tears-with the kids and on my own, but spending a
week with these buddies is going to be fun!
I am currently working on “Camp CeCe” with a schedule, complete with pictures
and the fun that we will have. Katie has provided me with their schedule that I
will work into the “CeCe” schedule! Meals, naps and bedtimes will be consistent
(hopefully) but there will be surprises for mommy and daddy, crafts that CeCe
can manage, and I have a few things up my sleeve to make those boys keep
smiling while their parents are travelling.
Surely, there will be a couple of Facetime visits, but
after chaperoning large groups of children, I know that kids miss their parents
even more when there is a call…so we will do these visits as mommy and daddy
need them.
Because Katie reads this, I don’t want to give details, but
suffice to say that there will be scissors, glue, and tape involved. There will
be card games and dice games. There will be balls and bins. So much fun…at
least that’s how I have it planned! Oh and we will be having a birthday party while
I’m there…CeCe’s turning 64 while she’s there!
Since I will be totally pre-occupied for the next two Wednesdays, I’m not going to post anything. I’ll be so busy with Camp CeCe! I will come back on July 6, with a full report!! xoxoxoxo
No running with scissors!
