Shout out to the Cincinnati Bengals!!!

Okay, for the 100th time, you all know that I am not a huge sports nut, but I do enjoy certain teams and I really enjoy the games that are towards the end of the season when they are headed to playoff games or tournaments.

That being said, I have spent the past weekend and Monday night, watching football games! WHAT IN THE WORLD???? Who am I?

You can’t help but be excited about the Cincinnati Bengals…31 years since they have won a playoff game so it is about time. The young coach and the new quarterback have brought some great energy to the team and as a result, to the city that I used to call home.

My friends on Facebook were enjoying every minute of being a crazy fan of a team who is on a winning path! Now, I know the Super Bowl would be amazing, but getting this far feels like the Super Bowl is within reach.

I love when a city is “lit up” with excitement like I know Cincinnati is right now. It’s been a long time coming but it’s also something to be excited about while in the midst of this covid stuff.

We all need something to get excited about. So, I’ll take it…I’ll take a football triumph…right now, it’s all I got!

The Ickey Shuffle made it back to the stadium. (a crazy dance done by former Ickey Woods). The “Who Dey” chants were heard through the TV. The Bengals dominated much of the commentary throughout the day on Sunday. Seemed everyone was a little surprised!!

Next stop, Nashville, where the Bengals will take on the Tennessee Titans. I’m feeling lucky and I know Cincinnati feels it too!! Let’s do this!!!

You may be wondering how I could devote a whole blogpost to a sports team…well, in a roundabout way, I am, but I’m also saying, “let’s get excited about something!” We’ve been in a funk and we need a way out! I know I’ll start to get excited about other things eventually, but I figure one day at a time. I can get excited about a snow day, or a Facetime chat with my grandsons, or maybe a surprise phone call or visit from someone! It really doesn’t have to be anything big…we just need to consider the small things as “exciting” things, right???

Today, I had blood work…routine blood work, but it would be nice to see my cholesterol in the acceptable range! Now that’s exciting!!  What are you excited about today????
