Ho! Ho! Ho! or Happy Halloween!! Okay…Okay…don’t go getting all worked up! Those of you who know me know that I am a little bit of a Christmas girl! When Greg & I were married, we had a Christmas party…a big party, the first Friday in December…regardless of where we were living. From the little 2-bedroom apartment with snacks setup in the bedrooms on TV trays, to the last house that we shared together, we had a damn good Christmas party! As a result, we had to decorate early…we had decorations all over the apartments/houses and if we didn’t start early, we would never have been decorated in time for our party. How nice it was to be decorated early, have our party and enjoy the season. We became “those neighbors” once Katie was out of the house. While everyone else was sitting in their driveways with their firepits and coolers, giving out candy, we had our bowl of candy on the porch, next to our pumpkin with our lights off. However, we were in the back sunroom, putting...

Ouch…Yay…Etc… When in counseling, and even now in my group therapy, I had to “check in” which meant expressing my feelings at the moment. Are you HAPPY? GLAD? SAD? or SCARED? You can only use this statement, filling in with one of those four words, and say… “I feel ___________” For me, most of the time, I was happy or glad. Occasionally, I would be sad or scared, especially during the early days of my divorce. Today, I feel a mix of all of those… “I feel all of the above!” I am happy because of the success of my #operationlaundrybasket. So many kind people have donated to give me a great start! It truly makes my heart swell! Thanks to those who have donated already and thanks in advance to those of you who will be sending later…Just in case you need it, here is the Amazon Wish List link! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2IN40BNTDBJ72/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_3?_encoding=UTF8&type=wishlist I feel sad because I saw a room full of donated items...

My New Normal??? Yay for weddings and distractions from the Covid-fatigue that most of us are dealing with! My cousin was married last Friday and it was a great weekend for me! Two nights in a king-size bed that was calling my name is just what the doctor ordered! Even though I was alone, I was surrounded by cousins and new friends so I wasn't lonely. I added a rehearsal dinner and a full day of laughs, a wedding, cocktails around a carousel and a lovely reception at the Cleveland Zoo. The time away was so much fun and trust me when I say, love was in the air! It is different to go to things, like weddings, alone, but I'm learning that my new normal isn't that bad! I went prepared with my Covid protection. Masks were in my purse, my pocket and in my car. I wore a mask unless I was actively eating or drinking. I also wore a mask at church, dropping it briefly for relatives to recognize me! When I was dancing, my mask was off most of the time, but the room felt...

I Believe In Love… As you all know, I have been divorced for nearly four years. It’s really hard to believe and even harder to believe how much has happened in those four years. Two grandsons, my own apartment, a big move south and return to my old room, three birthdays, nearly two years of pandemic life, a new job, and several little side “gigs” along the way. When I was going through my divorce, from a good man who had given me a good life, I wondered if I would ever find love again. Don’t fall over…I haven’t found it yet! However, I do know it is possible. I’ve seen many go through divorce or death of spouses and new love was found. I’m not obsessed and I have a good life and I know I am loved by many…family AND amazing friends from all parts of my life! I’m happy and loved. I also know that some people wait a very long time to find love and there is nothing better for me to witness than a long-awaited love that results in a marriage. That’s exactly what I will be doing th...
