Online Shopping for the Win! During this crazy pandemic time, people have found various ways to stay busy. At the beginning, it was housecleaning…people were decluttering like never before! The “deep housecleaning” and purging was all the rage! Afterall, we had to make good use of our time. Then, as time inside continued, there were home improvement projects…some people got new carpeting, some people built room additions, some people re-arranged furniture or painted for a new look, and I know one family that replaced their basement steps! So many projects! Soon it was summer and then came the yard cleanup, flower pots filled, mulch spread and perhaps pools put in! People were excited to find things to do outside after being cooped up for so many weeks! There were others who scanned photos, cleaned out recipe binders, replaced shelf paper, and other time-consuming chores. Friends became busier cooks or bakers, trying new recipes and experimenting with new ingredients. M...

FALL!!  Bring It!   As much as I love the summer and the outdoor fun, I truly love fall and I’m thinking with this week of mild temps, it has arrived!  I’m ready!  Thanks to the kindness of friends, I was able to enjoy outdoor living via their swimming pools and amazing porches/patios, so thanks to those of you who welcomed me in! Normally, it’s fun to look forward to sweaters and jeans, ( may I say, I am still wearing white pants when I want!),   pumpkin farms and cider, but honestly, this year, for me, it’s all about the realization that we are still in this pandemic and our fall traditions are changing.   It certainly isn’t what I had planned for my first fall back in Louisville. I planned high school football at Waggener (my high school alma mater) with tailgate parties and after parties! I planned fire pit visits with friends I hadn’t seen for ages. I planned shopping at my favorites…like Steinmart, for some fall colored attire. (We all know how...
A Public Service Announcement! * THIS IS MY BLOG POST!   This is not intended to be a political debate so I appreciate your restraint in posting any partisan comments on this page, although I welcome your private messages. Today, I want to talk about my efforts during the next few weeks. As we are inundated with political ads every where we look, I have come to realize that most people, like 95%, already know who they are voting for in this election.   This means that no ads, articles, emails, tweets, press conferences, debates, or phone calls are going to change their minds.   So, I have been thinking about what I can do to make election day be real and not the cluster that we are being told it is going to be.   My decision is simple…make sure people vote. Period. Vote by mail or vote in person, whatever is best and safest for you. I minored in political science and have never missed a voting opportunity. However, my life is different now…I have the...

The Life of a CeCe! Last year, on September 6, my life took a turn for the better!   I think you all know what happened…My first grandchild was born!   My only child (and her husband!) produced the most amazing baby boy and my world has never been the same! On Sunday, Gabriel turned one!   He turned one without the fun and fanfare of a first birthday celebration with grandparents and close friends!   Although it wasn’t the celebration any of us had planned on, it was a milestone!   We no longer have a baby…we have a toddler boy! And a pandemic birthday party is one for the baby book! This 18-20 pounds of boy, with his light brown hair and blue eyes has stolen my heart!   Now I know that all of the grandparents who are reading this have felt the same way. You just can’t describe it! Every little thing is a moment to celebrate. So I appreciate you letting me indulge you with my thoughts on being a “CeCe!”   I remember waiting all night wit...
