Good Sleep Coming Soon…zzzzzzzzzz

Today, I am officially in a happy, heart exploding, love of life frame of mind!   I’m not even sure if that says it all!   It’s been an awesome week and I have experienced a range of emotions!

It all started with my six-day visit to Pittsburgh where the joys of my life live!   I spent quality snuggle time with my baby (Katie!), and my adorable grandson, Gabriel, as Anthony head back to work after his three weeks at home.   I did overnight duty, I did daytime duty, I did diaper duty (although he saved his full diapers for his parents!), and I did snuggle duty!   I may have been a little sleepy when I arrived home on Thursday, but oh the joy!!

Gabriel has gained weight…he’s a whopping 9.3 oz and he is starting to do all of the right things for the ripe old age of four weeks.   He is still tiny!!   His little head fits in the palm of my hand!   He is starting to show signs of curiosity…noticing lights, listening to music, he sees his bottle approaching, and he is all in when I am talking to him.   (ummmm…duh!!)   We had lots of great conversations and I tried hard to get him to “coo” so I have no doubt that he’ll be doing so in the next few days if Katie and Anthony continue to work with him.   I’d like to think that he smiled at me first, but I’ll let Katie and Anthony claim that when it happens.   I was in Heaven for six days.

It will be a few weeks before I get back there, but I’ll be resuming my daily Facetime updates and it will be a treat for sure!   This time, it was harder to leave my Katie.   She is doing great…just a little tired, but really, she is adapting so well.   I always knew they would be good parents, but they have taken to the roles of Mom & Dad much quicker than I could have imagined.   Katie amazes me!!   I wish I could be there to lighten her load every day!!   Love you kiddo!!

For those of you who know me, I couldn’t have a quiet weekend…so this weekend was packed full!   Friday night, Girls Night Out with friends at AC2—Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper in a show that was SO.MUCH.FUN!  The evening included dinner downtown and an overnight at the Netherland Plaza.   Seriously...a great Girls Night Out!!

Saturday, a totally new experience…A Drag Queen BINGO fundraiser.   You had to be there.  I may even do a separate blog about this idea.   There was plenty of food and drink, plenty of raffle baskets, plenty of designer handbags, plenty of silent auction items, plenty of games in between the BINGO games, and lots of great photo ops with the emcee, our drag queen!  Suffice to say, the fundraiser was a huge success!

Earlier today, I enjoyed a musical at a local dinner theater…for brunch!   Disaster, The Musical was totally ridiculous...not exactly Broadway caliber (although it has been off Broadway!), it was stupid funny and a great way to end my weekend!

I've had so much fun but I must admit, I'm exhausted!   Tomorrow, it's back to work and busy days.   I have a good life...I don't want to miss a thing!!

Gabriel loves holding my hand while he sleeps...so comforting for both of us!! XOXO

Just one of our pictures from the photo shoot while I was there...both of us in olive, one of the hot fall colors!

Although I would have loved to get more pictures than this...I prefer to enjoy the show and not be distracted!

And then there's this...Dee W. Ieye (DWI...driving while intoxicated, a stage name!)
And this is the aftermath at our table!!
It's as cheesey as it looks!!
