Timing is everything!

Okay, today, I just need to vent!   I'm getting close to wrapping up Gala things...or as I have called it the Gala Aftermath!   However, there has been an interruption as we are making some office changes.

Moving offices is never easy, but when your office is overly messy/cluttered and you look like a hoarder, it's especially difficult.  **NO JUDGING!!!

So, there are pictures included with this post.   My office looks like a tornado went through...which by the way would be a disaster.   Just the thought of a wind coming through here is making me sweat!  Breathe Lisa, Breathe!   This is the kind of thing that drives me to drink!

Anyway, I would like to have had the Gala wrap-up finished before taking on this task of moving, but as they say, "it is what it is!"   Sometimes, we don't have those options!

My point to all of this is life often seems unfair...especially when we aren't consulted, or we don't have options.   This happens to all of us at some point.   I'm certain that we've all been forced into some situation that we would have preferred not to be in.   But we survive.

Is there ever really a good time for these things?   For me, it helps knowing that the students are on spring break next week, so the maintenance people will be able to work around them which is why this week was chosen for me to move.   Stay focused, Lisa...I get it...it's not about me!

Looking back at the last 2+ years, I wonder if there could have been a better time for my marriage to end.  I mean there is NO good time for a family to be broken up or turned upside down, but now, I know, it was out of my control.   With Katie settled and on her own, I think the timing was better than if she had been younger and in school.   I'm also glad that I was and still am in a good place with a job and some security.   The bottom line, there was no good time, but it happened...ready or not.   And...I survived!

I remember thinking about starting a blog and trying to find the time to do it.   The timing never seemed right.   I needed help to navigate a site, to figure out how I would do it and I was always too busy.   Then, over Thanksgiving, I got my act together and BAM!   My blog started on the very same date (2 years later) that I had learned my marriage was ending...Timing is everything!   It was perfect timing for the blog.  It was perfect timing for me, as I was in a good place.   It has continued to be a good thing for my journey.   It is one area of good timing!!   Thanks to all of you who have helped me get here.

My days have been full and my nights have been booked…I think I needed the distractions and they have been good…YES, timing is everything!   Coming off of the Gala, exhausted,  and staying busy has been a good thing.   That "letdown" is real friends.   I've been blessed with friends who ALWAYS include me and I'm happy to be included.

So, today, after a full day of work, I'll mix my Gala role with my friends role, and there will be a Gala team wrap up gathering...at a bar!!   Cheers my friends!  Timing is everything!!
