Here’s to the Ladies who lunch… When I moved back to Louisville, it was Covid time and outside the house activities were non-existent for me. I had looked forward to being back and connecting with friends, but it couldn’t happen for a while. Once things started to return to normal, I felt the need for a regularly scheduled activity with friends. What did I do? I planned something! I decided to start a Facebook group called the Twisted Brunch Bunch and I proceeded to invite friends to join. We scheduled the first brunch for this past January. I made reservations for those who replied to my invite. The gathering was shaping up to be a fun day. Then, without warning, Mom, Dad and I got Covid. All of us vaccinated, all of us taking the precautions, even though the guidelines were lifted, we got sick. None of us was nearly as sick as we could have been, but this meant that I could not go to the first brunch. Of course, I have great friends so one of these lovely ladie...

What a Drag… *To all who may not be interested in drag queens, stop here! But if you can open your heart and mind to the next few paragraphs, keep reading! In June, Katie and I went to Nashville and spent an evening on the Drag Queen Bus. I’m always up for an adventure and Katie has never led me astray, so off we went. It was 90 minutes of pure fun and I am so glad we did it. The “queens” were excellent entertainers and at no point did anything to make any of the guests uncomfortable. They definitely respected their audience and kept the party going! Every single person had a great time and we hated for the trip to end. Last week at my modeling session, there was a drag queen participating and I became friends with her on Facebook. We had a good conversation about the Catholic Church and I would have loved to have an opportunity to share this conversation further. I have no doubt that some day, we will. In Pittsburgh, before Katie’s boys were born, she t...

STRIKE A POSE? Who? Me? Why yes…I’ll do it!! That’s what I said to a Facebook post asking for models for a re-branded salon in downtown Louisville! I asked the recruiting person if a full-figured, gray-haired, 65-year-old model was needed, I was her gal! She welcomed me enthusiastically and I marked my calendar, requested the morning off work, and looked forward to July 11 at 11am. With my new blog image, I thought this would make for a good post. I had no idea what it would be like although many of you know I do have a modeling resume that includes a few fashion shows modeling for Chicos and J Jill. These shows went to my head and I was even recognized one time at a restaurant…okay, it was a burger joint, but the sweet woman came to our table and said, “Are you a model for Chicos?” I mean who am I to disappoint a fan. I thanked her for saying something and fought off the paparazzi who were surrounding me! HA! HA! Seriously though, I thought why not? All sizes and ages of peo...

65 and Feelin’ Fine! WOW! So much has happened in the last few weeks…June truly has been busting out all over and I couldn’t be happier! You may have noticed a new blog name and a picture. It’s a peacock martini glass…I’m leaving the #grownasswoman/60 and starting over, behind. I have a feeling the #grownasswoman will pop in for a visit now and then, but I’m growing older (age wise) and I have a new attitude! I’m now Martini Musings…actually, CeCe’s Martini Musings. CeCe for my most prized role (grandma!), Martini for my favorite cocktail, and Musings for my random thoughts! In the background is a peacock…my peacock on a martini glass! My “bird” is the peacock! Most of you have heard me talk about this but if you want to know what your bird is, check out the Bird Test! It’s only 20 questions and will take 5 minutes max. When you click on the link, scroll just a bit to find the actual list of words that are the test. https://richardstep.com/dope-personality-type-...
